The UK FMD Working Group for Community Pharmacy published guidance (The Way Forward for FMD in community pharmacy) for pharmacies to help them consider how to implement FMD in January 2018. This guidance has now been superseded by the information on this website.

MHRA guidance

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has published guidance on how to prepare for implementation and compliance of the Safety Features Regulation of the FMD.

The guidance – Implementing the Falsified Medicines Directive: Safety Features – includes sections on how FMD works, guidance documentation and useful resources, and links to copies of the MHRA’s FMD newsletter.

NHS Digital guidance

NHS Digital has developed a community pharmacy FMD toolkit for pharmacy teams.
